Preparing for the National Quality Framework
The National Professional Support Coordinator (PSC) Alliance is working closely with the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR), State and Territory Governments and key stakeholders to roll out a national strategy supporting education and care services to understand and implement the National Quality Framework (NQF) from 1 January 2012.
The PSCs in each state and territory are ready to support Australian Government Approved Child Care Services (AGACCS) prepare for the new system. A broad range of resources, professional development, consultancy and support services are available from your local PSC at subsidised rates for eligible services, starting with some free Foundational Information Sessions continuing into 2012. PSCs are working closely with the Australian Government, so you can be confident you will receive the most up to date information about the NQF.
A key focus of the NQF requires educators to articulate their practice and knowledge base. The best preparation for NQF is to be working towards embedding the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The PSCs offer a range of nationally consistent resources, professional development and support options to support implementation of EYLF, which complement the national EYLF Professional Learning.
Professional Development & Workshops
Between December 2010–October 2011 over 390 Free Foundational Sessions were delivered to AGACCS nationally to over 10,900 educators. The PowerPoint presentation from these Foundational Sessions can be downloaded here for staff teams and network groups.
Educator Meeting Packages provide directors, coordinators and service leaders with materials and resources to lead learning and development within team and educator meetings. These packages provide opportunities for dialogue, professional conversations and reflection to support your team to implement the NQF.
EYLF and MTOP Professional Development and Support
Professional development, consultancy and resources are available from your local PSC to support education and care services understand and implement the EYLF and MTOP, including articulating curriculum development and documentation to meet the NQF.

Webinars are available to support services understand the changes with the new National Quality Framework. Check in with our NQF Resources page regularly for updated information.
An online NQF Foundational Session is available through this website for free download. The session is based on the Foundational Sessions that have been rolled out nationally. Go to the NQF Resources page to access the online session.
NQF Factsheets are distributed nationally to all education and care services. These provide examples from services who have successfully moved through the self assessment process. They also include examples of NQF implementation and the latest information from DEEWR. Copies of the NQF Factsheets can be downloaded from the NQF Resources page.
